You can permanently delete your MU20 account from the app or through MU20's account-deletion webpage.
How to delete your account
What happens when you delete your account
Once deletion is confirmed:
Access to the deleted account ends.
You are signed out.
The deleted account cannot be restored through normal sign-in.
Identifying account and profile information is anonymised or removed from the active account.
This includes information such as your name, email, photograph, school, date of birth and other identifying profile fields where applicable.
Your forum posts and comments are hidden so they are no longer publicly visible through your deleted profile.
MU20 deletes the corresponding authentication record from Clerk.
If you later register using the same email address, that registration is treated as a new account. It does not restore the deleted account.
Delete and Deactivate are different
Delete Account is permanent.
Deactivate Account, where available, temporarily disables or pauses the account and may allow it to be reactivated later.
Choose Delete Account only if you want permanent account deletion.
Information that may remain
Account deletion does not necessarily cause every technical or operational record to disappear immediately.
MU20 may retain limited information where reasonably necessary for:
Security
Abuse prevention
Legal or regulatory requirements
Resolving disputes
Legitimate operational requirements
This may include:
A non-identifying internal account record necessary to preserve the deleted status
Hidden copies of posts or comments where retention is necessary for security, abuse handling or legal purposes
Certain uploaded files where retention is necessary for those purposes
Support tickets and related operational records
Records of programme or club activity where legitimately required
Aggregated or anonymised analytics
Information retained for these purposes is not kept longer than reasonably necessary for the applicable purpose or as required by law.
MU20 does not sell retained information or use it for advertising.
What deletion does not do
Deleting your MU20 account does not retrospectively undo processing that lawfully occurred while your account was active.
Aggregated or anonymised information that no longer identifies you may remain after deletion.
